Ukrainian agricultural sensation – a variety of sweet corn with purple grains won the hearts of farmers

✅The first variety of anthocyanin super sweet corn in Ukraine 🌾 Bordeaux, which is also called Ukrainian Bicolor, because it has blue and yellow colors on the cob, became a sensation even before the seeds went on sale, SEEDS writes.
📌The variety was created and produced by the Vinnytsia breeding company MNAHOR. When the company first posted a photo of its anthocyanin sweet corn on Facebook in the fall of 2022, farmers began contacting the company in any number of ways to try the new product.
📌In the end, the company decided that more than 200 farmers should grow corn on a trial basis, that is, they will receive seeds for free 💪. Farmers published reports on how they grew the novelty, and this led to the wild popularity of the variety, and information about Bordeaux (Ukrainian Bicolor) spread all over the Internet.
✅ So, starting this year, the novelty, blue-yellow corn, which was grown by farmers for the first time, became a bestseller throughout Ukraine. The unique burgundy (purple-blue) hues of the kernels are very different from the typical yellow and white sweet corn.
🌾 Bordeaux sweet corn (Ukrainian Bicolor) is bred using traditional methods – without GMOs. Bicolor corn is a hybrid with an average of 70% purple-blue and 30% light yellow kernels on the cob. The MNAHOR company has been working on improving the variety for more than 7 years.
🌾 The unique burgundy shade of the grains, which differs from the typical yellow and white sweet corn, is unsurpassed. And the tasty and wonderful visual form and photogenicity of the new corn impressed buyers in all corners of Ukraine. Photos with favorable reviews flooded social networks, and the corn itself instantly found its buyers in vegetable markets throughout Ukraine.
✅The new variety of purple blue-yellow super sweet corn, Bordeaux (Ukrainian Bicolor), thanks to its unique purple-blue color and excellent taste, is unlike any other sweet corn available on the market in the world.
